イントラネット^(Intranet)更新サービスから更新を受信するようにWindowsUpdateが構成されている場合^{(Windows Update)}、 WindowsUpdateはパブリックWindowsUpdateサービスから定期的に情報の取得を開始します^{(Windows Update)}。

このイベントは、主にWindowsUpdate^{(Windows Store)}やMicrosoftUpdateや^{(Microsoft Update)}WindowsStore^{(Windows Update)}などの他のサービスへの将来の接続を可能にするために設計上発生します。この動作を防ぐことができます。つまり、Windowsが^(Windows)WindowsUpdateインターネット^{(Windows Update Internet)}の場所に接続するのを停止します。

WindowsがWindowsUpdateインターネット^{(Windows Update Internet)}の場所に接続できないようにする

すべての管理者は、Windows Update^{(Windows Updates –)}の管理中に同じ課題を経験します。つまり、Windows Updateを迅速にインストールし、ワークフローに影響を与えずに管理し、予期しない再起動によって生産性が低下するのを防ぎます。場合によっては、追加の問題が発生する可能性があります。Windowsが^(Windows)WindowsUpdateインターネット^{(Windows Update Internet)}の場所に接続しないようにするには、次の手順に従います。

Press Win+Rを組み合わせて押して、 [実行^(Run)]ダイアログボックスを開きます。

ボックスの空のフィールドにregeditと入力し、 ^(regedit)Enterキー^(Enter)を押します。

レジストリエディタ^{(Registry Editor)}が開いたら、次のパスアドレスに移動します–

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate.

ここで、右ペインに切り替え、右クリックして[ DWORD ]を選択します。次のように名前を付けます。

DoNotConnectToWindowsUpdateInternetLocations

^{(Double-click)}エントリをダブルクリックして、文字列値を編集します。1に変更します。

レジストリ^(Simply)エディタ^{(Registry Editor)}を閉じて終了します。

PCを再起動して、変更を有効にします。

構成時にレジストリを変更すると、[Windows Updateインターネットの場所に接続しない]GPO設定が有効に^{(Windows Update Internet)}なり、WindowsがWindowsUpdateインターネットの場所に接続^{(Do not connect to any Windows Update Internet locations)} でき^(GPO)なくなり^(Windows)ます。

この設定は、このPCが「イントラネットMicrosoft更新サービスの場所^{(Specify intranet Microsoft update service location)}の指定」ポリシーを使用してイントラネット更新サービスに接続するように設定されている場合にのみ適用されます。

グループポリシーの使用

グループポリシーエディター^{(Group Policy Editor)}を使用して同じものを構成するには、順序に従ってください–

コンピューターの構成>管理用テンプレート>Windowsコンポーネント>WindowsUpdate。

[Windows Updateの設定]で、 [WindowsUpdateのインターネット上の場所に接続しない]^{(Do not connect to any Windows Update Internet locations)}を開きます。

ポリシーを有効にするには、 [有効^(Enabled)]オプションをオンにします。

すぐに、 Microsoft Store^{(Microsoft Store)}、WindowsUpdateなどの公共サービスへの接続が機能しなくなります。

Do not connect to any Windows Update Internet locations

When Windows Update іs configured to receіve updates from an Intrаnet update service, it begins to retrieve information from the public Windowѕ Update serviсe periodically.

This event occurs by design, mainly for enabling future connections to Windows Update and other services like Microsoft Update or the Windows Store. You can prevent this behavior i.e., stop Windows from connecting to any Windows Update Internet locations.

Prevent Windows from connecting to any Windows Update Internet locations

Every administrator experiences the same challenges while managing Windows Updates – installing them promptly, managing them without affecting the workflow, and preventing any unexpected restarts from cutting into productivity. Sometimes, additional problems can occur. To prevent Windows from connecting to any Windows Update Internet locations, follow these steps.

Press Win+R in combination to open the Run dialog box.

Type regedit in the empty field of the box and press Enter.

When the Registry Editor opens, navigate to the following path address –

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate.

Here, switch to the right-pane, right-click and select DWORD. Name it as:

DoNotConnectToWindowsUpdateInternetLocations

Double-click the entry to edit the string value. Change it to 1.

Simply close the Registry Editor and exit.

Restart your PC to allow the changes to take effect.

The registry changes when configured will enable Do not connect to any Windows Update Internet locations GPO setting and stop Windows from connecting to any Windows Update Internet locations.

This setting is applicable only when this PC is set up to connect to an intranet update service using the ‘Specify intranet Microsoft update service location’ policy.

Using Group Policy

To configure the same via Group Policy Editor, follow the order in sequence –

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components> Windows Update.

Under Windows Update Setting, open Do not connect to any Windows Update Internet locations.

Check the Enabled option to enable the policy.

Instantly, the connection to public services such as the Microsoft Store, Windows Update will stop working.
